About IREGIA

IREGIA is an institute for applied sciences. When founded in 1998 the main purpose was to support the revitalising of brownfields by scientific research and consulting. Nowadays we deal with the overall subject of sustainable development at industrial sites and regions.

Within that field we focus mainly on
  • the development of sustainable factories (manufacturing systems, facilities, buildings),
  • the development of industrial real-estates including the regeneration brownfields,
  • regional planning for a sustainable development (land use management).

IREGIA combines skills from industrial engineering and business management as well as from urban planning and economic geography. In that fields IREGIA collaborates with the corresponding chairs at Chemnitz University of Technology. Legal IREGIA is an independent non-profit association.

We offer services such as accompanying research for pilot schemes, scientific analyses, feasibility studies and conceptual planning/basic engineering.

Our offer is addresses to the (industrial) real-estate sector, to manufacturing and service companies (as users of real-estates), to local and regional authorities, associations, institutions and planning or consulting engineers.
